About Us

The Presbytery of Gippsland covers Phillip Island and Koo Wee Rup to the west, Swifts Creek and Mt Hotham in the high country, Wilson’s Promontory, and the beaches beyond Lakes Entrance through to Mallacoota. It holds the major towns of Warragul, Traralgon, Sale and Bairnsdale, the Latrobe Valley and many towns and villages between.

We acknowledge the Bunurong, Boon Wurrung and Gunai Kurnai peoples and commit ourselves to truth-telling, reconciliation, justice and peace for all people.

Paul had a
thorn in his side,
yet when Paul asked God
to heal him, God responded that
God’s grace is sufficient, and
God’s power is made full
through weakness
or vulnerability.

As folk
who are broken
and beaten receive the
broken body of Christ, they
are being renewed, being taught
the ways of Christ in the most
visceral of ways and are
walking in God’s paths.

In a time
where the church is
really seeking to shore up its power base,
the Kingship of Christ is a dynamic
and radically subversive
image.
