Rev Vic Heyward

A Big G’Day to the UCA Gippsland Presbytery community,

I’m very excited to be coming onboard with the Presbytery Team as we seek to affirm, encourage and work amongst all of you who make up the UCA Gippsland faith communities.

My wife Karen and I shifted to the Gippsland region 3 years ago to put our L plates-on running a little hobby farm. Steers, sheep, chooks, fruit trees and too many veggie patches have us feeling like we’ve bitten off more than we can chew however, it has been a wonderful experience so far…

Karen and I have 3 sons 3.4 grandchildren (1 is percolating) and are enjoying what this stage of life has to offer.

I have a passion for old motorcycles and for those who ride them. Consequently, I am a founding member of Longriders Christian Motorcycle Club (35 years), and we have 11 chapters in Australia and 3 in Europe. It’s been a challenging yet rewarding experience to journey with men who struggle in faith and life.

I started my working life as a metal fabricator, but it wasn’t long before I moved into youth work, chaplaincy and the church ministry setting through Churches of Christ Victoria.

So, there’s a snapshot. Look forward to what God has at work for us all.
